The Naughty Corner Board

Over the years we’ve gone through many reward and punishment systems in the Ice-Simmons house, and I stumbled upon this old picture of a version of our “Naughty Corner” board from a while back.  This one was especially sad to my son, because it had “naughty Ned” in the Naughty Corner, and Truett did NOT want to get his name on the board with naughty Ned (because his face was so ugly).

In this incarnation of the Naughty Board (which changed weekly based on how the behavior modifications were going), we were still spanking for check marks.  That, of course, was before we realized that Mr. Truett truly has buns of steel and he will gladly break the rules for the thrill of the misbehaving and suffer the punishment as a “cost of doing business”!
So, needless to say, the new Naughty Boards have kept evolving with the times, keeping what worked, losing what didn’t, and including the other children as well.  If I find the other pictures of the boards (which are lurking in the archives somewhere), I’ll make sure I share!
