Playing Myself in The Sims 4 – Latest in The Sims Series!
The SIMS™ 4 is waiting for you at Walmart and I’ve been glued to the game since I brought it home from the store! The newest installment in the Sims series is packed with new features, smarter stories, and ultimate customizations that will make it hard to tear yourself away from your Sims.
You can see me with my Sim at the in-store Walmart display above. I named my Sim Alice Ellis, and she looks just like me, all the way down to my signature pink leather jacket and white pants with beige high heels. It’s too bad I didn’t wear my matching outfit to the The SIMS™ 4 in-store launch!

I believe I was the first customer at my local Walmart on The SIMS™ 4 launch day to pick up the game! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and start playing.
Me & My Sim: Inseparable Already
I’ve been busy playing my blonde bombshell Sim since September 2nd, and I’ve tried out some crazy things with her life to see if I could experience the weirder stories boasted by the latest SIMS game.
I started Alice as a writer and got her an entry-level job as a writer’s assistant. The pay was low, and her morale was poor because she didn’t have much money to spruce up her Sim house. Here is her tiny 1 bedroom house:
I found a SIMS money cheat code so I could get her enough simoleons (sim money) to buy a computer and get promoted to a better job. I didn’t go crazy with the money cheat, though. I only took enough to get her the basics. I still couldn’t afford a desk, so Alice’s computer sat on her teeny dining room table:
Imagine my surprise when she got promoted to BLOGGER! I know, it’s a little twisted that I play a Sim who looks just like me and has my same profession, especially when I could live out any fantasy life in the Sim world. That must mean that I really like my real life!
I started Alice as a single career girl and since she’s an ambitious Sim, I wanted to see how far I could get in her career before giving her a family.
The first male Sim that came around was Gage. How easy would it be to get Alice involved with a boyfriend? I wondered. Would her career suffer if she had to balance work and professional interests with a relationship? A sequence of friendly and romantic gestures led Alice to ask Gage to be her boyfriend, which led to this:
Yes, that’s Gage and Alice in their jammies getting ready to do WooHoo. What’s WooHoo? This:
It turns out that having even a Sim relationship is a lot of work, and Alice’s promotions slowed down. Alice proposed to Gage, thinking he was the one. They planned a wedding at the park and Alice greeted the guests:
But then, Alice started to get cold feet. Remember those promotions that she loved so much? Would being married mean the end of her career? She looked around for Gage to reassure her, only to find that her groom was a NO-SHOW! My poor Sim was now a jilted bride, and out of frustration, she ran away from the wedding:
Even though life returned to normal for Alice, Gage still came around! I was really surprised that I couldn’t find a way to break up or end a Sim relationship (maybe I just wasn’t looking in the right place).
Life went on, and Alice did all the daily Sim things: cooking, cleaning, and going to work.
The promotions started rolling in again, and Alice was publishing tons of books. She even became a prolific writer! Then one night, Alice’s boyfriend came around again. Instead of selecting WooHoo, I accidentally asked Gage to WooHoo and Try for Baby. Oops!
A few days later, Alice was a pregnant Sim. In her 3rd trimester of pregnancy, Alice asked Gage to feel the baby kick:
Then she had the baby and never saw Gage again! Remember when I told you The SIMS™ 4 had weirder stories? Proof positive!
With Alice’s new family, I decided she needed a remodel to enlarge her Sim house. I gave her lots of extra space, new furniture, and an all-new baby’s nursery for her little bundle of joy. Here is the nursery:
Remember her poor-Sim, 1 bedroom house from the beginning? Here’s her new posh house:
Alice had a baby boy, who aged from a baby Sim to a child in just a few sim-days. When I stopped playing The SIMS™ last night, Alice and her son, Cooper, were having dinner:
I’m hooked on The SIMS™ 4 even more than I was on the original SIMS game. There is so much more that you can do with your SIMS now, and it’s fun to experiment. My daughters have been having a great time watching me play, and Seven was picking out furniture in the builder mode for Alice’s house remodel.
I had to move my laptop to the kitchen table so the kids could look over my shoulder because they were so curious about what Sims were and how they worked. Now they’re hooked too! Have you been simming? Leave your SIMS adventure in the comments below!
