Conquer the Paper!
This is my first week participating in The Lazy Organizer’s Smart Habit Saturday! It’s hard to choose just one new habit to work on, when we are all constantly finding little ways to improve our time, finances and lives.
The habit I’ll be tracking in April is scanning. I have been working on the files, piles, storage boxes et. al. of PAPERS which have ruled my life for so long! My family was given a scanner by a relative and I have been digitizing all the paper in our home so I can throw it away! With such a backlog, and considering that I have only scanned roughly 3000 pages so far, it is a slow and daunting project.
To make it easier to keep up on, I will do 10 minutes of scanning each morning. That should take care of some of the back stockpile of papers! And I will scan all the papers that come into the house EACH day immediately. That means when I get home with the mail, I will scan it right away and throw the paper in the trash.
That way the backlog won’t get any larger, and I’ll make a little dent in it each day!
I can’t wait to check in on my new SMART habit next Saturday to give everyone an update! And cheers to my friend, The Happy Housewife, who has given up her soda habit!

Wow, scanning all paperwork! That is daunting. I know that I recently scanned 600 old photos. It took forever. Days actually. I have many many more to do. Lifetimes of pictures(before digital) 10 minutes makes it doable. What a good idea!

Good for you! I worked on paperwork in March and I am finally getting my mail sorted as it comes in the house. It feels so great! I love getting as much of it in the garbage as possible.
Thanks for joining us!

I never even thought of doing this. So what type of mail are you scanning?
I do need to scan in photos and I’m not looking forward to that.
But I do look forward to hearing how it went this week. Good luck.

Good for you on the habit! I have been thinking about doing that myself, but keep putting it off. I have done some of it, but really need to get going on it. That is a good habit, I might have to add that one next, never thought to officially make it habit 🙂
